I like this a lot. It gives a good work out. I have two minor complaints that aren't really complaints but to help others shopping for one. 1) This is very loud. Much louder than the concept 2 I use at the gym, but if you turn the tv way up you can hear it. 2) I don't think the display works very well. A 30 minute workout should burn about 350 calories, but mine shows like 90. The manual does say to only use it a comparison to other workout so I guess they know it isn't reliable.

Highly recommend this high quality, reasonably priced home rowing machine. Easy to assemble. Takes up less space folded and unfolded than most other machines. Smooth action. Can be used by tall people. Sufficient tension settings for average user. Other reviewers have complained that front of unit lifts off floor with vigorous use. They didn't read the instructions! You must insert locking pin when using – not just when upright for storing. If locking pin is installed, it is impossible to lift front of unit off floor while using. My only issue is that feet slip off bottom of foot pedals. Solution is to add a second foot strap for each foot so you can have foot strap at heel and at front of foot. Each foot pedal has two slots for foot straps. Generally available Velcro straps will work for heel straps.

I used my machine religiously for just over 2 years. Loved it. The clockspring device that pulls the strap back into the unit after a stroke broke. I called Lifespan. My unit was outside of warranty. I knew that and was prepared to fix the unit because I loved it. I was told that you are not able to replace the small part tnat broke. You are FORCED to buy the entire mechanism (i.e. the whole system of parts that sets resistance and retracts the strap). Lifespan employee was as shocked as I was at the replacement part price…..$340 shipping!!! A whole new unit cost 499….ridiculous!

My advice – IF you buy this unit by an extended warranty. Lifespan lost me as a future customer. I would have paid a reasonable price for parts but NOT this much.

Great product. Having watched videos on rowing machines I am able to use this as intended. I get an excellent workout. I don't understand the negative comments unless people are not using it correctly. As a number of people reported, my monitoring device failed almost immediately. For my purposes, I really don't need it, so haven't replaced it.
