Folds easily for storage. Casters allow the rowing machine to roll away for easy storage. Computer Features: Four window LCD monitor display.

The four LCD window display shows time (up to 99:59), distance (up to 99.99 miles/km), calories and speed.

The magnetic resistance adjusts with a turn of the tension dial at the base to increase or decrease the workout; however, it doesn't provide much tension at the highest level which will disappoint users in good physical condition who won't feel like they are getting a good workout.

This low-budget  rower has a magnetic resistance which works fine with it. The rower has five resistance levels that go perfectly well with any type of exercise regime. All you have to do is to turn the knob just under the display unit to change them.

The Rowing Machine has a good seat when you consider the price range of the rower. The gliding motion with this rower is perfectly alright.

Even the footrests are perfect, but they cause you to spread your legs more than the average rowers would. They are almost 2-3 inches wider than your normal rowers.

The model folds up to save space. You can attain a full-motion  workout with it. If you are one of the tall guys, this rower still works well for you. It has a split monitor display suitable for the model (much better for an entry level model).

You can monitor all your essentials using the display. But one drawback of the product is that it is not preset, and it is not programmable. The weight limit on this machine is 250 lbs.

I'm no pro, but this machine is 'okay' for beginner level rowing. Expect that you're getting what you pay for in this machine, it's decently sturdy, rows pretty smooth and is fairly quiet. The seat glides back and fourth okay but if you lean too far to the left or right (which you shouldnt be doing anyway if you're properly rowing), it can grind on the track. The front part of the machine that houses the wheel mechanism is two peices of cheap inflexible plastic fastened by screws… so if the front end gets bumped hard enough the plastic will break and will find yourself having to tape the front end back together. The most important part of the machine ; the display, is a battery operated peice with 4 very small digital watch looking display screens that have no lighting. So trying to view the small display can be a challenge… and an even bigger one if your room is not bright. We also found that the display is not accurate… it does not factor in the tenstion of the wheel or the intensity of your workout, so relying on the calorie count of your rowing sessions could become discouraging.

All in all, at this price range, this machine is decently sturdy and can to the basic job of a magnetic rower pretty well but the lack of development in the display leaves more to be desired.

Overall a nice piece of equipment. Box showed up kind of banged up, but no major damage to equipment – little piece of plastic broken off main part, but that was it. Setup was relatively straightforward and quick – two people really needed to make sure it stays in place while attaching bottom part, but overall can do it with one and leaning it up against a wall or other object. The diagrams in booklet are not real clear – the arrow pointing the right direction on bottom part instruction can be a little confusing, but if you look at the way the footrests must be attached to rotate when using machine it will get setup correctly. Resistance is pretty good – I work out on average 3 to 4 days a week doing a variety of exercise and am in pretty good condition and using it on max resistance is still a very good workout for legs and upper body. I got this for doing a more total body cardio aspect so that I would get addtl strength training and upper and lower body while doign cardio. Doing 30 min alternating between settings 3 and 5 (max)at 3 minute intervals is a pretty good workout for me – 30min on 5 would be a pretty hardcore workout. This brings me to one gripe – yes only $269, but would have been nice to have a set of programs in unit for interval training so that I do not have to stop to change resistance setting at time intervals. I would have paid an extra $30 or $50 for this feature. Magnetic resistance is pretty smooth and although only been using about a month, machine feels like it will withstand prolonged use without breaking – have read a few stories indicating otherwise – hopefully mine will not share this fate. Display is a little small and dark and not backlit, so I guess this could be another area for improvement. Mileage is probably accurate, not sure about calorie counter – but it has been consistent for both – bout 2.5 miles and 140 calories for my 30 min routine. My girlfriend uses the machine as well and has no complaints – she uses it on min reistance for toning and cardio. Price is right and free shipping is nice. If it holds up to continued use, then def worth the money.

The phoenix 98900 power rower was a good price, now I know why. when I opened the box I noticed that there was very little in the ways of cushion inside to protect the the machine. I proceeded to remove it from the box and some of the plastic housing broke off. Ok I can deal with that as it was not essential for the operation of the rower. By the time I got it all put together more plastic broke off and the plastic housing actually started to split in two. By this time, I was not going to take it all apart and send it back. I wrapped duct tape around it to hold it together. It isnt pretty, but is functional. I assume that it got damaged in shipping. The plastic housing is extremely cheap. I know it was fairly inexpensive, but come on, the company can”t do better than that? So far it works fine after a week. Gives good enough resistence. Plus it accomodates my size, I am short, 5 foot.
